What is it all about?
Spice up your evening and learn the sensual performance art of burlesque. This class will offer guided exercises on how to eroticize a performance as well as information on the history and culture of burlesque.
What will we cover?
Seasoned performer St. Stella will begin with a short playful and informative introductory on the history and culture of burlesque. You’ll learn three archetype characters found in the art and then execute the various movements and performance styles they embody. Not to mention, you can purchase a ticket including a pair of silky gloves to master the erotic ‘glove peel’! Guests also have the option to bring their own long gloves if they prefer to do so. To make the workshop even more entertaining, professional performers will take the stage and show you a thing or two. What more can you ask for on a Wednesday night?
Who will be teaching?
St. Stella describes herself as a bendy and buxom burlesque performer who has been in the business for 8 years. Her career has spans several festivals across North America, earning her a handful awards and even a performance off broadway. St. Stella is currently a member of the Tive and the Toronto Burlesque Teachers Collective and has taught burlesque related classes for over three years, including with the Toronto School of Burlesque institution.
